How To Clean The Xbox 360

xbox 360 consoles must be kept clean and free from grime to perform at optimal levels. Here are 4 quick steps on how to clean your xbox 360 gaming console.

Step #1 - Turn Off Everything except power Source

First, disconnect everything except the main power source used to open the disc tray. All openings, ports and sockets will be cleaned as well to maintain optimal performance levels.

Step #2 - Wipe Away All Dust & Grime

Get a soft towel, or use your care Kit and start wiping away all dust on the exterior of your xbox 360.

That includes wiping away the vents, underneath the hard Drive, and cleaning out all the power sockets & memory card slots.

Step #3 - Clean Out the disc Tray

Next, wipe the disc tray clean, and remove grime & build up from the interior part of your xbox 360. By touch up, I mean wipe away any dust particles visible, and use air to blow out hidden dust particles inside your xbox 360 console.

Step #4 - remove game disc Scratches As Well

If your game discs carry any scratches, use the soft cloth and scratch solution provided in the xbox 360 Care Kit or a soft cloth & hydrogen peroxide to work at eliminating any disc scratches. used games with scratches will cause damage to your xbox 360 console over time.

Was the XBox 360 Released Too Soon?

Less than a week after launch, xbox 360 owners have started to complain about several problems with their new xbox 360, mainly over heating and disk scratching. What seemed to be isolated cases several days ago, now appears to be more prevalent.

A reader of xbox Today claiming to be an xbox live technical support worker, believes that nearly half of the xbox 360s are broke.

I estimate at least half the 360's out there are broke... nothing but constant calls" explained the source

Regardless of whether-or-not the source does work for tech support, there is still a growing number of concerned xbox 360 owners with broken xbox 360s.

The question that most people are asking is; did microsoft launch the Xbox 360 prematurely?

Last time around microsoft actually launched too late. Sony sold more than 20 million units by the time microsoft sold its first 1.5 million. This time around, microsoft has the head start. The nintendo Revolution and the ps3 are both expected to be released in 2006, at least 6 months after the launch of the xbox 360. However, with the obvious shortage, and the growing number of complaints, MS large head start may have less impact then previously thought.

As the next few months play-out it will be interesting to see if MS can overcome the concerns with technical issues as well as the obvious shortage prior to the launches of the Sony Playstation 3 and nintendo Revolution. Either way, 2006 is shaping up to be a great time for gamers.

Spider-Man - Friend or Foe Preview

The spider-man franchise has spawned a multi billion dollar industry worldwide. From comic books, movies, television, toys, memorabilia, games and so forth. Whether you are enamored with spider-man or abhor spider-man, he is here to stay. For the most part, spider-man games are fairly entertaining. Personally, I have always had a fantastic time with anything and everything that is affiliated to spider-man.

The new spider-man video game is another one of those games that will no doubt make Stan Lees bank account even richer. spider-man: Friend or Foe is a spider-man video game with an original perspective. That is because players will see spider-man becoming allies with his most malicious foes. Some of these adversaries entail green Goblin, Dr. Otto Octavius, Venom, and Sandman. The location of the game is not exclusively set in New York city; the lovable hero will travel to different areas of Asia as well. There will also be a multiplayer component to the single player campaign. The plot in spider-man: Friend or Foe is utterly ludicrous, but that is alright. spider-man: Friend or Foe is about a meter crashing down on earth with deadly repercussions. It is a breath of fresh air to view an innovative spider-man storyline. Many gamers are worn out of the same unoriginal plot with the spider-Man video games time and time again. If Spider-man fans were able to get pass the eccentric story in marvel ultimate Alliance, then they will easily overcome the story in Spider-man: Friend or Foe. The gameplay has all the bells and whistles that Spider-man nerds (like myself) will enjoy. There is your traditional web-slinging and swift Spider-man maneuvers that will make gamers giddy.

Conversely, there are some rudimentary puzzle solving aspects in the game. Since Spider-man: Friend or Foe is catered for the 10 - 14 age demographic, you will not be expected to accomplish a plethora of intricate puzzles. However, a few puzzles sprinkled in here and there are present to alter the pace. In addition, you will be able to swap to a different character (ala Resident Evil 0) on the fly. Spider-man: Friend or Foe is expected to come out on the Xbox 360, nintendo Wii, nintendo DS, PlayStation portable, PC, and PlayStation 2. Activision has not corroborated if a PlayStation 3 version is under development. Not having a PlayStation 3 version of Spider-man: Friend or Foe is illogical because Spider-man and Sony are synonymous. Hopefully, a PlayStation 3 iteration will be announced shortly. Spider-man: Friend or Foe is slated for an October 2, 2007 release date.
